The Sequels

"Fast Forword" — Literature Through Music

In August of 2019, THE SEQUELS – a group of senior high school students from the Arizona School for the Arts (ASA) – released their debut album “FAST FOREWORD” that captured eight captivating songs of which six are written based on the books Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger (song: IT KILLS ME), Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison (song: FOOL'S GOLD), As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner (song: PRETEND), The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (song: GREEN LIGHT), Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (song: SAVAGE), and The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga (song: COMMIT).

As the members of the band put it, "Our songs are inspired by our favorite books you probably hated reading in high school. We wish to share these stories through the power of music." – a unique concept of capturing the spirit of books as personal reflections expressed in songs.

I had the great privilege to Iserve as the band's DADAGER.
