Connecting Cultures Through Music

Connecting cultures through music and showcasing a wide variety of instruments from around the world, many traditional, some rare and others newly-invented, Orchestra of Samples now archives and samples over 300 musicians recorded in 30 countries so far, over a 14 year period. From Kazakhstan, India and Senegal to Colombia, Brazil and Indonesia, across Europe and the UK, the musicians are from very diverse backgrounds and cultures. Sampling is a very 21st Century way of creating music, from the worlds of experimental sound collage to mainstream hip-hop.

Orchestra of Samples takes this methodology further by sampling the video alongside the audio. Artists Addictive TV filmed recordings sessions with musicians improvising on all manner of instruments, sampling them all to create new music, bringing together instruments not often heard together in the real world.
